I have a love/hate relationship with vintagephoto -- in that I love everything about that community except the mod and her cronies.  They post nice pictures and everything, I guess, but if submissions aren't up to their elitist artistic standard, they get their knickers in a twist.  Or, as happens rather too frequently, one of the top contributors/cronies posts about her own Dramatic Personal Problems on the community and expects the rest of us to care.  ( I used to.  But now I think she's just an attention whore.)

Today it's the artistic standard thing.  Suddenly posting pictures of your family is selfish and monotonous. 

What a bunch of bullshit. I'm so irritated.

Somehow I'm really not surprised.

I bought one!  Not the model I linked to last night - I decided a soprano was too high for me, and got a tenor instead.  It was, unfortunately, $20 more, but I think it'll be worth it.  I'm so excited.  Dad rolled his eyes when I told him, but then I mentioned his banjo-mandolin-guitar-playing habit, and he shut up -- and, actually, two seconds later, got all excited and wanted me to look up various models of ukes, which all ended up being over $300.

 . . . I want a ukulele.

Particularly this one.

I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get it by the end of this week, thanks to some money I've squirreled away, which would be awesome.  Dad tried to get me to take after him and play the guitar, but he put way too much pressure on me and I ceased to be interested, and then I used to play the clarinet in school, but for reasons I'm still not sure of, though probably it was because of the people I knew in band - who were all quite cool, before anyone pops in with something stupid.  My cheap acoustic guitar is sitting lonely in the bonus room, and my clarinet has been hidden away in my closet for three years.  I'd love to play something I actually want to, for once.

Also, Kirsty, you asked what the 2010 thing was about? I decided I'm going to attempt writing Pirate fic, and I was trying to make a sticky post for my prompt table.  Hopefully it works . . .
